The ESSX8336 (often stylized as ES8336) is a low-power audio codec from ESS Technology. On x86 tablets and low-cost laptops (e.g., Chuwi HiBook, Teclast, Jumper EZbook), the ACPI device identifier ESSX8336 is used to declare this codec in the DSDT (Differentiated System Description Table). However, it is notoriously problematic under Linux due to non-standard ACPI wiring.
