Here’s the one setting you need to know:

When you press the power button on your computer, a lot happens in the first 10 seconds. The fans spin, a light blinks, and then—seemingly by magic—your operating system loads. bios 1000

That handoff is why you see a manufacturer logo for a few seconds, then your login screen. You can enter the BIOS setup menu by pressing a key during startup—usually Del, F2, or F12 .
