Just as the clock struck midnight, the download finished. A new icon appeared on his desktop: a simple, smiling robot face. No file extension. Just the face.
Rohan felt his blood turn cold.
The screen went black. Then a list appeared:
“Fine!” Rohan shouted. He transferred the money. He deleted his movie folder. He even shared the cursed link to a group chat named “Gully Boys,” muting it immediately after.
Rohan closed his laptop, got into bed, and stared at the ceiling. His phone buzzed one last time. A text from his mother: “Beta, why did you send me a link to a robot movie? And why did my smart fridge just say ‘Hello’?”
