It allows for widescreen HD resolutions, smoother rollback netplay, and much better resource management than the clunky DOS-era MUGEN executable. You can download a MUGEN pack with 5,000 characters in ten minutes. Most of them are broken. Most of them crash your game. Most of them look like a five-year-old drew them in MS Paint.

Yes, the download is huge (bring an external hard drive). Yes, setting up IKEMEN requires a tiny bit of technical know-how compared to standard EXE files.
