Summoned by Prince Caspian’s magic horn, the Pevensies return to a Narnia overrun by humans who have forgotten the talking beasts and magical creatures. Caspian, the rightful heir, is fleeing his usurping uncle Miraz. The children help rally the Old Narnians for war. Peter challenges Miraz to a duel, while Lucy seeks Aslan, who has been absent. Edmund and Lucy (now with whiny Eustace) enter Narnia through a painting. They board Caspian’s ship, sailing toward Aslan’s country at the edge of the world. On various islands, they face slave traders, a cursed pool that turns objects to gold, and a dragon’s lair where Eustace’s greed turns him into a dragon (only Aslan’s claw can change him back). They battle the evil green mist, which manifests their deepest fears. At the world’s end, they meet Reepicheep, who enters Aslan’s country. Lucy and Edmund are told they will never return to Narnia.
